
Tashini Vithanage
Tashini Vithanage is a Marine Biotechnologist, Conservationist, and experienced Lecturer with over four years of teaching expertise across National, Edexcel, and Cambridge curricula. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of Colombo and a BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology from Northumbria University, UK, bringing together strong academic foundations with real-world environmental insight.
Driven by a deep passion for the oceans and environmental conservation, Tashini is committed to helping students understand the natural world and their role within it. Her teaching philosophy focuses on identifying and addressing student misconceptions through effective pre-assessment and post-assessment strategies, allowing her to tailor lessons to each learner’s unique needs and learning pace.
Tashini adopts a student-centered approach, guiding learners from their existing knowledge toward a deeper, more confident understanding of complex geographical and environmental concepts. By encouraging critical thinking and linking environmental issues to everyday life, she creates meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
