What is the difference between Cambridge and Edexcel?

They are 2 different exam bodies that offer similar qualifications from the UK. And both qualifications are equally accepted worldwide.

Is Cambridge highly recommended than Edexcel?

Both Cambridge and Edexcel are UK qualifications that are equally recognized
worldwide.

Does Platinum conduct classes for smaller grades?

Platinum conducts classes from grade 6 onwards until ALs at the moment.

Does Platinum conduct classes for the year October / November or January session?

No. Platinum conducts classes only for one exam session which is May/June.

Why doesn’t Platinum have ALs in 1 year?

AL in 1 year is not recommended for all students since it will be extremely difficult to follow both AS and AL classes in 1 year. It is recommended only for extremely hard working and academically smart students.

Can a student who did local OL do Edexcel/Cambridge AL?

Yes. A student after local OL can follow Edexcel/Cambridge AL.

Can a local student join for OL in 1 year?

Yes. A student who followed the local curriculum can follow OL in 1 year since we cover the syllabus from the basics.

Can a student register for exams privately through Platinum?

Yes. Platinum students can register as private candidates through Platinum (only for the May/June exam series)

Can we register through Platinum for the exams done in October / November if we aren’t attending school?

No. We register our students only for May/June examination series.

If a new student joins the class after 2- 3 months, can the student get the recording of previous month lessons?

Yes. It is possible to get the previous month recordings from Platinum on +94 777 898626 (via WhatsApp) but the class fee payment has to be made for those months that the student is requesting.

If a student joins the class in the middle/late, can they get the previous tutes issued in previous months?

It can be requested from Platinum on +94 777 898 626 (via WhatsApp) and the soft
copies will be emailed to the students. However, we do not issue hard copies of old tutes.

If a student misses a class, how can he/she cover up that lesson?

The student can request for the class recording on the next day of the class, by simply sending a WhatsApp message to the Lecturer (should be requested within 1-3 days after the class).

Can a student request for the class recording for revising?

Yes. But should be requested from Platinum on +94 777 898 626 (via WhatsApp) within the month the class was held. And we do not send recordings in bulk.

Can students download the recordings?

No. It is not possible to download the recordings.

Will the recordings expire?

Yes. Usually, it will be available between 3 – 5 days.

If a recording is expired, can the student request for it again?

No. We strictly do no resend recordings under any circumstance. Therefore, the student must request for the recordings only when he/she is able to watch.

Can parents use the Platinum car park?

No. It is available only for the directors, lecturers and staff at the moment.
